Aït-ben-Haddou is a ksar (fortified village). It is on the UNESCO World Heritage list and has been used as a film set for many movies (Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia...).

In Ouarzazate, also known as the "gateway to the desert", if you wish, you can visit the Atlas Studios - film studios prized by many directors for the beauty of the setting and the quality of the light (films - Alexander, The Return of the Mummy, Cleopatra...), and a film museum, where relics of sets and costumes used for films shot in Ouarzazate are exhibited.

Ouarzazate is a quiet little town, built mainly around its main road, Avenue Muhammed V. Its name comes from a Berber expression and means "without noise". Only 180 km south of Marrakech, Ouarzazate is the center of a region rich in Kasbahs, valleys, gorges, dunes, palm groves, rose gardens, oases ... famous worldwide. Its kasbahs are classified in the humanitarian heritage. The symbol of the city is the Kasbah of Taourit which belonged to the pasha Thami El Glaoui.

On the way back you pass by Kasbah Teloute - a concrete example of the power and success of the Pasha Glaoui, one of the richest during the French protectorate.

Abandoned, this architectural jewel still resists the assault of climate change.

From the fortress you will have a breathtaking view of the typical Berber villages and mountains. The Kasbah is a mixture of Berber and Saharan tradition, Arab-Andalusian luxury and European wealth.
